Im Juni 2019 präsentiert das Österreichische Filmmuseum, gemeinsam mit der New York University und dem Orphans-Erfinder Dan Streible, eine Spezialausgabe des Symposiums: Vorträge, Filmprojektionen, Diskussionen und kuratierte Programme zum Thema „radikal“.

Das heißt: Filmdokumente radikaler Politik genauso wie radikale filmische Ansätze; nicht zuletzt wird es auch darum gehen, wie man die Archivierung und Überlieferung von Filmwerken vielleicht grundsätzlich anders denken kann. Lassen Sie sich überraschen!

„The color reproduction of the films produced by this method is extremely lifelike“, a Viennese newspaper reports. In November 1931 the camera manufacturer and entrepreneur Josef Mroz introduced a color process to the amateur film scene. Mroz revived and adapted the two-color additive process Biocolor for the 9.5mm format. The anticipated commercial success failed to materialise, even though Mroz was convinced that people would „grasp the implications of [his] invention“. Mroz Farbenfilmremained a Viennese phenomenon.
