Kurt Bauer
Kurt Bauer is a trained typesetter, historian and author.
He graduated from the Höhere Grafische Bundes-Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt and worked for many years as a book producer and publisher’s editor. From 1991, in addition to his professional activities, he studied history at the University of Vienna (diploma thesis 1998, dissertation 2002). From 2007-2017 he was a freelancer at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Historical Social Science (LBIHS).
From 2015-2017 he led the project “Who were the illegal Nazis? Collective biographical (prosopographical) and social structural studies on Nazism in Austria 1933-1938″ (Future Fund of the Republic of Austria). The project was started at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Historical Social Sciences (LBIHS) and completed at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for History and Society (LBIGG, renamed Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Digital History (LBIDH) in 2019).
