The composition of the team of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Digital History (LBIDH) is interdisciplinary (history, sociology, film studies, media studies, German studies, American studies, fine arts and philosophy) and international (Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, USA).
Staff members (employees) and associated members (freelancers, contract workers and former staff members who are involved in ongoing projects or preparing new projects within the framework of cooperations) are joined by resident fellows who are present at the Institute as guest researchers but are not employed by the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (LBG).
Former staff members who are not involved in any current project and are not currently preparing a new one, but who remain connected to the Institute in various ways, are part of the team as alumni.
As of 1 July 2017, the team was strengthened by two staff members and three associated staff members from the LBI für Historische Sozialwissenschaft (LBIHS), which was dissolved on 30 June 2017.
